Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of charas, 80 bottles of Codeine  and 4500 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon quantity concealed in an underground hideout in this south Kashmir district, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
They said based on a tip off a naka was established by police at Tulkhan crossing, Bijbehara in Anantnag during which on suspect Farooq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Marhama was arrested after 10 bottles of Codeine were recovered from his possession.
Upon this FIR No 92/2021 under sections 8/20,21 NDPS Act was lodged in Police Station Bijbehara, he said.
However, during his sustained questioning Bhat said he was getting drugs from a main dealer identified as Mohammad Ashraf Khan, a resident of Tulhan.
Spokesman said subsequently a police party from Police Station (PS) Bibjehara alongwith Executive Magistrate (EM) was rushed to the spot. Khan  confessed his crime and informed that he has concealed drugs in an underground hideout in the courtyard of his house.  
He said the courtyard was dug out with JCB to recover the drugs
Later, huge quantity of drugs, including 34.7 kg of  Charas Powder,  80 Codeine of 80 bottles and 4500 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon were recovered.
  He said on April similar hideout was busted in the area and huge consignment of drugs were recovered.  
 Police in Anantnag has launched a decisive war against drug peddling and it is firmly reiterated that one and all involved in drug trafficking will face the wrath of law, he said.
